We played one of my favorite shows ever last week. It was a benefit for the play the 'Betty Dean Fanzine' written by Greg Kearney and starring Caroline Azar (Fifth Column). It was so much fun, we got to perform and hang out with amazing people that we really respect. Plus there were some really cool people in the crowd as well. No word on any new shows hopefully something in March.

We just got back from our little venture down to the states. We had a little difficulty getting over the boarder, they searched us and detained us for a bit. It was a little much when Aron was asked by the boarder cop "So why should I let you into my country?"

Estrofest was cool! I'm still a little bummed that Tracy & the Plastics cancelled, Wynne was too scared to fly, but I don't blame her one bit. So we landed up being the headliner which made us laugh because no one knows who the hell we are. We got to experience our first Homecoming (it was homecoming weekend in Bloomington). Yeah we hated it as much as we thought we would, the parade scared me very much. We played with some cool bands I really liked the Neophiles and the Hussies. Big thanks to Carrie and the other people who organized Estrofest, you guys rule!

Then it was off to Detroit to visit the Trembling. We were really tired and cranky while we were in Detroit the drive from Bloomington sucked it took us like 8 hrs to get there. We played a pretty shitty show, Cheryl & I got drunk to compensate. Thank you Trembling for another fun show in Detroit

Our friend xARONx AKA Rivers, will be playing guitar with us now. We had our first practice last weekend and things are working out great.

We also just got invited to be a part of Sylvia Plath day in Northampton, MA. Details for this aren't 100% worked out or confirmed but we are super honoured to be asked to be a part of such an awesome event

Also this coming Sunday, September 23rd we will be at Canzine with our fanzine and some other things. Everyone should come down if they can. It's being held at the Big Bop (Reverb) at Queen and Bathurst. It's a giant zine fair including film, seminars and performances (MECCA NORMAL will be performing)

Myself & Cheryl have just finished the first issue of our zine, Autokeny. It includes quite lengthy interviews with Patty Schemel, Carrie Brownstein, Maggie Vail, the Gossip, the Gits, Sarah Cracknell & Lois. If anyone's interested in getting a copy there $5, just email us if you want one.

Also a new guest book and mailing list has been added to the site. Someone decided too fuck with our site. Sorry for all who had signed the old guest book, feel free to sign again. We also have added pay pal to the site. thanks

We are on the look for a new guitar player. Cheryl and I played as a two piece last night at Wavelength 75. We played with 11 other bands including The Constantines, Winterbrief, Currently In These United States, Picastro, The Summerlad, etc.. It was a really awesome night, one of the best shows I've been to in a long time. Playing as a two piece was quite interesting. We had a lot of people come up and said that they actually like us as a two piece, which I was quite surprised at, yet happy to hear. We are still on the look out for a new guitar player and my have actually found one last night. We'll keep you posted.

Ourselves and Tracy and the Plastics will be headlining this years Estrofest in Bloomington, Indiana. It takes place Friday October 12th and sends pride week out with a bang.

Were back from our first US tour and let me just say we had a fucking blast! We met a lot of amazing individuals who made our stay in the US extremely welcome. Here is a little breakdown of how our little tour went down

July 07 - July 09

After the gruelling 12 hr drive we made it to our destination, the wonderful Meow Mix in NYC. We played a pretty crappy set to a very small crowd. Remember all the hype about the Kali Maa Fair, well this was it, what a joke it was. I still feel like an asshole for being apart of this. All I can say is thank god for the Meow Mix. After being fucked over by the promoter AMANDA KEENER (remember this name), Meow Mix save our sorry asses. We were told we would be put up for 2 nights in NYC by the promoter. After we played our set we were told no sorry I can't do that because the club screwed me over, which was a complete lie. Meow Mix was so good to us, one of their bouncers Simon, put us up at her house in Brooklyn for 2 evenings, even gave us the keys to her house. On our final night in NYC Brooke the owner of the Meow Mix let us sleep in the basement of the club. These are some of the most trusting and generous people I have ever met, I still don't understand why NYC gets such a bad rep? I have to send big warm thank you's to the staff of Meow Mix including Simon, Brooke & Diggity, Killer, Jessica & Nancy, you were all so good to us, thank you so much.

July 10

We made our way to Baltimore, we were so hoping we would catch a glimpse of John Waters. The closest we got was eating midnight snacks at the Paper Moon. Our show was held in a really cool loft space in a huge warehouse. Joining us on the bill were Cry Baby Cry & The Meat Joy from DC & also Die Cheerleader Die & Matlock 4. We befriended the members of Cry Baby Cry, great individuals who know how to rock. We played a really great show this night; we weren't stressed & were having a really good time. Big thanks goes out to Jeanni and John for setting us up with such a great show.

July 11

The Drive up to Pittsburgh was so beautiful, trees and mountains everywhere. We were late of course for our show at the Millvale Theatre, nothing new. This place was a little strange, a huge barn like place with the biggest pop machine cemetery I've ever encountered. Zoe from Kitty Pryde came and introduced herself to us, in the first minute of our conversation she invited us to hang and stay with the her and the other Kitty Pryde ladies at their house. Our set this night was the worst of the tour; we couldn't hear a thing on stage. Kitty Pryde set kicked ass; they are a really great band. Afterwards we went out for some mexican and then retired back to the Kitty Pryde zoo. 2 Ferrets and 2 cats can be quite entertaining at 3 in the morning. The next day we encountered Jerry's Vinyl Kingdom, oh my god I've never seen anything like it. Go Gos & Joan Jett 7"'s, we thought we had died & gone to heaven.

July 12

Akron Ohio is an odd little backwards town, only a few miles away from were Jeffery Dalmer Grew up. Our anthem for the night was a cd truth song called "I hate route 8" considering this was the route that got us lost and late, it was fitting. We played at the lime spider the little alterna/college/outcast bar. It was a cool little place that books some pretty cool bands. Joining us on this show was CD Truth and Kill the Hippies. We made up for the night before, we played I think our best show of the tour this night. We were all fired and fuelled because we had a dumb frat boy heckling us. I thought Cheryl was going to draw blood that night. Kill the Hippies were a lot of fun to watch. After the show we all rocked out with this guy named Buzz as he played acoustic stooges songs. That night we stayed with the CD truthers at their house of rawk.

July 13

As we entered Ft Wayne, Indiana we thought we were either entering a full on army base or the frickin house of god. We played in a cool little space in a basement of the YWCA, later given the name the cuddle puddle. We met up with the wonderful folks of the band the trembling (my new favorite band), who offered to take us home with them to Detroit for another show the following night, we accepted. We played an ok show this night though I was haunted by smells of garbage and was horrified that it was my own BO, we were all having stinky issues this night. We also played with Violated by Lipstick, this was Kimberly who had set up this shows band, they were great. Opening the show was MEOW and his little angst ridden cowboys, oh boys you're no rock N roll fun. Thanks to Kimberly for setting up the show, letting us crash & taking us to the bell

July 14

Detroit isn't as bad as people make it out to be, actually we love detroit now. It cool cause they are in the same bind as toronto, no fucking all ages venues, it makes me sick. We played mess fest with the trembling, new grenada & Violet skin. I missed Violet Skin I hear they were great, their cd's real good. New grenada we really awesome, very DGC. The Trembling rocked, we have them to thank for this show, so thanks guys we luv u. Thanks to Monday for buying us some sweet food, he took such good care of us, he invited the entire Detroit police dept and swat team to watch over us as we ate. Thanks also to Kelli for letting us crash. The next day we went record shopping before we made our way back to Canada. Were we were welcomed back into our own country by being detained and searched. Oh well at least the Americans made us feel at home, thank y'all so very much from the bottom of hearts to all of you who made us feel welcome in your country.
