The Plath is a
three-piece queercore band from Toronto, Ontario. Already being compared
to riot grrl bands like Bikini Kill & Excuse 17 crossed over with
earlier punk groups like Black Flag & X Ray Spex. The Plath’s
music is a heavy mixture of rock steady drumming, thick anchoring bass
lines and edgy guitar riffs. Together with their political and emotional
lyrics they create a sound that is angry and moving. Featuring Cheryl on
drums/vocals, Shannon on bass/vocals & Aron on guitar.
Cheryl and Shannon met back in 1998 and began playing music together soon after. After trying out several guitar players they have settled down with a there perfect match, Aron. This past summer the Plath released there self titled debut cd. As well they toured the states on there first international tour. |

| Recently
after being inspired at last summers Ladyfest in Olympia, WA. Cheryl
& Shannon of The Plath organized Ladyfest Toronto. A benefit to
raise money for Interval House a local women’s shelter. It brought
together some of the greatest artists in the Toronto music community,
and will now be held annually.
